finding spike - thanks to the media

the whole time we were searching for Spike, I couldn't help but think that everything that went on wouldn't have happened if it weren't for media.

All the sightings we heard about were through facebook or twitter. We were able to get the word out to hundreds of people (and thousands through nat and nic's blogs) via facebook, twitter, instagram, and blogs.

If it weren't for cell phones we couldn't have told each other where to look or about the latest sighting. I told my friends to look for him through text messages.

I found websites that allowed me to post Spike's picture and it alerted all dog owners in the area that had an account to look for him by phone and email.

this experience made me so grateful for the media!!!
and grateful for my 1,700+ friends on facebook! ;)
